I need some help from a little above... 05 September 2004 - 2:03 a.m. Well, here we are, all together again :) Moved into hoose on Wed, parents and I drove down, stopping at the Hershey factory, of course. Moved everything in, made Ikea book shelf, and went out to dinner with the parents, bringing James along. Had to sleep in Steph and Scott's bed since mine was covered in boxes. Scott and Steph and fishies came Thursday. That goddamn tank was heavy! It was the first time we had all been in the house together since we originally saw it. Much house discussion. It's been fab seeing everyone: Soph, Ash, Mike, Saba, Jen, Tia, Andrea... and all the Cody people/frosh leaders today (Wendy, Mo, Jo, Sylvia, Alex...) Though being back in Whitney was a bit odd, and Steph and I were missing it a tad. The few frosh we met seemed very trendy, but friendly. But we decided another year there would've killed any good feelings we have towards it. Ate much Greek food on the Danforth last night. Good Thai food today! Much house work being done. Unpacking, cleaning, fixing my door (wax does the trick!), putting handles on drawers, getting my computer to accept our wireless netework, and tonight we built two shelving units! I used a ratchet AND a wrench. Sweet. With the normal res-y type stuff (Simpsons episodes on the computer, hockey games, listening to much Sloan, used CD shopping, general hangin') and fun trips to Yorkville (Williams-Sonoma is hiring, Tiffany was sparkly and Holt Renfrew has gone somewhat rock'n'roll and pink?) as well as new stuff (Collage party (!) and everything cooked on the BBQ...) has made the last few days very fun. We're really not lacking in anything. Phone and internet already up and running, lots of sitting space (two couches, thanks Andrea!) lots of dishes, extra freezer from James' parents, big BBQ, washing machine soon (it was too heavy for the boys), dryer, more space than we know what to do with, we're very set. No cable as of yet, but we get CBC and CTV. We'll live. House parties very soon. To do very soon: See Dave at the 'Nut (He better call tomorrow!), see Mike's new digs, see Andrea's new digs, put l-d plan on phone line, and answering machine!, get VISA card, buy Killers tickets, sell textbooks, see Chris when he's back from BC, party with Ash before she leaves us to go to Singapore, hit DA CLUB, apply to many many stores, library, deposit monies!, unpack and clean. Move around all of our furniture (how did we end up with so much? We've got extra...) In the future: Subway to Costco, subway to M & M (I need veggie burgers stat, my house is red meat filled.) Clean the backyard up a bit, it's leafy and the patio is uneven. Oh, yeah, and classes! My first one isn't until the 13th. My room is sweet. Lantern from Ash will go up soon. Sink and cupboards don't seem so strange. And it's great being back in the T-dot. Walking from Yonge St today reminded me of downtown living - ie, full of people. One guy asked for my autograph...? Back to the Edge (102.1!), the smog warnings and the Dominion. I just wish it wasn't so damn hot and humid. Though not in the house, thank God! pass to the left ~ sail to the right
